Madrid Plan on Ageing “not sufficient”, says UN independent expert
In her comprehensive report on the rights of older people, UN Independent Expert Rosa Kornfeld-Matte has concluded that the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing is not sufficient to fully protect older people’s rights, and calls on member states to consider a new convention. She will present her report to the UN Human Rights Council in September and the UN Open-ended Working Group on Ageing in December.
